Deleting Your breve Account and Data
This page explains how to delete your account and associated data in breve, the language-learning app operated by Felix Lindgren (Brevelang).
You can request deletion in two ways, both described below. There is no charge, and you do not need to give a reason.
How to request account deletion
Option 1 — In the app (recommended)
- Open the breve app.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account and associated data are then deleted as described below.
Option 2 — By email
If you can’t access the app, email felix@brevelang.com from the email address linked to your breve account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
We will verify the request and process it. If you write from a different email address, we may ask you to confirm your identity so we don’t delete the wrong account.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the personal data associated with it, including:
- Your account information (email address, authentication credentials, and account identifier)
- Your learning data (the language and level you selected, words you’ve tapped and their learning states, clips viewed and progress, streaks, daily goals, and coins)
- Usage and analytics data linked to your account
This is a permanent deletion, not a temporary deactivation or “freeze.”
What data may be kept, and for how long
We may retain a limited amount of data after deletion only where we are legally required to, or where it’s necessary for security and fraud prevention (for example, basic records needed to comply with legal obligations). Where this applies, the data is kept only for as long as required and is then deleted.
We do not keep your learning data or use any retained data to rebuild your account.
How long deletion takes
We complete deletion of your account and associated personal data within 30 days of your request, except for any limited data we must retain as described above.
